Doctor Who has been nominated for it's visual effects at the seventh annual Visual Effects Society Awards. It has been nominated in the 'Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Miniseries, Movie or Special' category for The Cyberking effects in the 2008 Christmas special, The Next Doctor. Doctor Who has also been nominated in the 'Outstanding Matte Paintings in a Broadcast Program or Commercial' category for the series four episode, Silence in the Library. The awards will take place on the twenty-first of February, and the results of them will be posted here shortly after they are announced. What are your thoughts on this awards nomination?

I hope Doctor Who will win as the effects in the episodes are very good and definitely deserve awards.
