Today, the second of three new Torchwood radio plays, The Golden Age, will be broadcast for the first time. The new radio play includes the voices of John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Llyod who also star in the TV series as Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones. The Torchwood team head for Delhi on the trail of a dangerous energy field, in Golden Age, written by James Goss, the second part of this brand-new series of extraterrestrial investigations starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd. As the energy field grows once more, the team witness the simultaneous disappearance of hundreds of people and Jack discovers that the field centres on an old colonial mansion – Torchwood India. Shocked to find that Torchwood India is still going strong, since he shut it down himself more than 80 years ago, Jack is even more surprised to find that its members, including his old flame, the Duchess, haven’t aged a day.
Torchwood: Golden Age will be broadcast on BBC Radio Four at 2.15pm in the afternoon play slot and will be available to listen to shortly after on BBC iPlayer.
