BBC Books have now revealed the cover for the re-release of Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale, which has been updated with over 300 pages of new material and features the addition of 'The Final Chapter' to the original title. The book is a collection of new and previously published Emails and messages between Doctor Who lead writer and executive producer, Russell T Davies, and writer for both Doctor Who magazine and the Radio Times, Benjamin Cook. The book's cover, featuring an exclusive new image of David Tennant, Russell T Davies, and John Simm, can be seen above, and the new synopsis for it can be read below:
For this revised and updated edition of The Writer’s Tale, Head Writer and Executive Producer Russell T Davies and journalist Benjamin Cook continue their in-depth discussion of the creative life of Doctor Who to cover the last of Russell’s specials, as well as the increasingly successful Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures spin-offs.
Candid and witty insights continue throughout a second year’s worth of correspondence, covering David Tennant’s final episodes as the Doctor, Russell’s own departure from the show, and the legacy that both leave behind as a new era of Doctor Who begins.
With over 300 pages of new material, and taking in events from the entire five years since the show’s return in 2005, The Writer’s Tale: The Final Chapter is the most comprehensive – and personal – account of Doctor Who ever published.
Doctor Who - The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter will be released at good book shops across the United Kingdom and Ireland on the new date of the 14th of January 2010, being sold at a regular retail price of £16.99. More details will be posted when they are revealed. Will you be purchasing this when it is released?
