Billy Nighy, the British actor well known for his critically acclaimed role as Davey Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, has been cast in the fifth series of Doctor Who, Digital Spy have revealed. The actor will be appearing in an episode of the series written by Comic Relief creator, Richard Curtis, which will see The Eleventh Doctor, as portrayed by Matt Smith, and Amy Pond, as portrayed by Karen Gillan, meet Vincent Van Gogh, as portrayed by Tony Curran. Billy's role in the episode, which will reportedly be the tenth in the upcoming series, will be a curator at an exhibition featuring the work of Van Gogh. The fifth series of Doctor Who is set to be broadcast on BBC One and on the BBC HD channel this Spring, and more details regarding Bill Nighy's role in the series will be posted.
