The BBC Press Office have today revealed the transmission details and the official synopsis for the first episode of Doctor Who series five, The Eleventh Hour. The episode introducing Matt Smith as The Eleventh Doctor will be broadcast on the third of April, as it has been revealed, at the earlier then usual time of 6.25pm. The episode's synopsis can be read below:
The Doctor has regenerated into a brand new man, but danger strikes before he can even recover. With the TARDIS wrecked, and the sonic screwdriver destroyed, the new Doctor has just 20 minutes to save the whole world – and only Amy Pond to help him.
After the episode, starring Matt Smith as The Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as his companion, Amy Pond, is broadcast, the second episode of the series, The Beast Below, will recieve it's transmission on the following Saturday, with Victory of the Daleks, The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone, Vampires of Venice, and the other series five episodes set to be broadcast on the other Saturdays after that.
