Karen Gillan, who has taken on the role of The Doctor's new companion, Amy Pond, for the fifth series of Doctor Who, has spoken to The Guardian. In her new interview, the Scottish actress discusses her role in the series and her character's relationship with The Eleventh Doctor, as played by Matt Smith. Speaking about her character, Amy Pond, Karen Gillan said:
Amy's a sassy lady, funny and passionate, and her relationship with the doctor has a really interesting dynamic." She kisses him this series: does she love him? Karen (who is in real life in a relationship), answers carefully. "She has a love for him, a really deep love for him. But not romantic."
