Sarah Jane Adventures Series Four And Five

The BBC have today confirmed that popular Doctor Who spin-off series for children, The Sarah Jane Adventures, will return for both a fourth and a fifth series. Russell T Davies revealed in December last year that the show had been commissioned for a series four, but no official announcement had come until now. The series' new executive producer, Nikki Wilson, said:

"After a hugely successful third year, in which ratings went up - a rare feat for television these days, the fourth series has been planned for a long time, with scripts well underway, and all the regular cast ready to return. It's a testament to them that the series has become so popular with young viewers. I can promise lots more thrills, scares and fun with enemies old and new, including the terrors of the Nightmare Man, the sinister Shansheeth, our first visit to an alien world, and even a dangerous journey back into history."

It has been confirmed that Phil Ford, Joseph Lidster, Rupert Laight, Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman will all be writing for the fourth series which will begin filming later this month. Production on series five of the show will start at a later date, and more news regarding the fourth and fifth series will be posted here when it becomes available. What are your thoughts on this commissioning?
