Doctor Who finally returned to our television screens last night with hour long opening episode, The Eleventh Hour, introducing us to The Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, Prisoner Zero and the ruthless Atraxi. Overnight ratings for the episode have now been released by BARB, and reveal that at least 7.7 million watched the first episode on BBC One, with another 0.3 million watching on the BBC HD channel, giving it a whole overnight rating of 8 million. The overnight ratings are not accurate, and the official ratings will be released by BARB in a few weeks, and will be posted here, on The Gallifrey Vortex.
