The Broadcasters Audience Research Board have now revealed the official final viewing figures for the second Doctor Who 2009 special, The Waters of Mars. The day after the special was broadcast on BBC One and on the BBC HD channel across the United Kingdom and Ireland this month, BARB announced that the episode recieved an estimated 9.1 million viewers. The Waters of Mars recieved 10.32 million viewers when it was transmitted on BBC One, BARB have confirmed, and an additional 976,000 people tuned in to see the special on the BBC HD channel, the channel's highest viewing figures to date.
