The series has been anticipated for a very long time, and now the wait is nearly over, with the BBC tonight transmitting The Eleventh Hour, introducing Matt Smith as The Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. The episode picks off where The Tenth Doctor era finished, with The Eleventh Doctor, straight from regeneration, crash landing to Earth, where he will meet Amy Pond and join with her for a encounter with the Atraxi and Prisoner Zero.
